Vaytax is the closest functional replacement for Taxdoo's German service: a licensed German tax advisor, fixed €89/month, English self-service. Engagement letter in your inbox within 48 hours, your next filing in our pipeline before its deadline. Switching is a power-of-attorney handover, not a re-registration, so your Tax ID never changes.
The short version
Taxdoo discontinued VAT compliance on 30 April 2026. From May 2026 onwards, Taxdoo will not file your VAT return, will not maintain accounting exports, and will not handle tax-office correspondence.
Your Tax ID is safe. It belongs to your company, not to Taxdoo. Migration is a power-of-attorney handover (Vollmachtswechsel), not a re-registration. There is no gap in your tax registration if the handover is timely.
Vaytax takes over for €89/month. A licensed German tax advisor reviews and signs every filing, submitted via the Finanzamt, the same channel your Taxdoo exports were built for. Engagement letter and Vollmacht in your inbox within 48 hours of registering.

A clean handover from Taxdoo to Vaytax takes 1–2 weeks. No re-registration, no gap, your Tax ID stays the same. Here is the path.
You start your Vaytax registration. The engagement letter and Vollmacht (power of attorney) appear in your inbox within 48 hours. You sign electronically, no printer, no scan.
From Taxdoo, request the last 12 months of VAT return + ZM filings (PDFs), the latest annual VAT return (Jahreserklärung) if filed, an accounting export covering 1 January 2026 to handover, any open tax-office correspondence, and confirmation that they've terminated their Vollmacht. Start this on day 1, response times slip during a wind-down.
We file the new Vollmacht. Your assigned Finanzamt processes the Vollmachtswechsel and routes future correspondence and filing access to us. The Tax ID is unchanged.
You enter the month's sales totals into the Vaytax dashboard (typically about 5 minutes: totals per VAT rate, EU acquisitions, reverse-charge supplies). You can also paste in your Amazon or Shopify monthly export directly.
A licensed German tax advisor reviews and signs the return. We file with the Finanzamt and send you the filing confirmation (Übermittlungsprotokoll) plus the accounting export. Your migration is verified clean.
The report you already download each month is all we need. Upload the same Amazon VAT Transactions Report (or easybill export) you used with your previous provider; we read every line, you review the figures, and your German filings continue without a gap.
See what we read from your report before you switch: try the free Amazon VAT calculator, read on your device, nothing uploaded. It is a draft, subject to our review.
You picked Taxdoo for the licensed advisor, fixed pricing, and English self-service. Vaytax delivers all three, and adds a named tax advisor on every return.
The same professional infrastructure Taxdoo's exports were built for. Every VAT return reviewed, signed, and submitted to the Finanzamt by a licensed German Steuerberater. No re-architecture: your transition is invisible to the tax office.
Reviewed and signed by a licensed German tax advisor (Steuerberaterkammer Rheinland-Pfalz), not an anonymous partner-network handoff. A real team you can email and reach.
Annual VAT declaration, EU ZM, and all routine tax-office correspondence are included. No surcharge by transaction count. Cancel anytime; notice runs to the end of the following month.
The same self-service experience you had with Taxdoo, in English. Email [email protected] in English, German, or French; replies come from the same team handling your file.
Every VAT return versioned per period, built for §153 AO Berichtigungen (corrections). When you re-file, the prior version is preserved with a clean supersedes link. No silent overwrites.
Each registration is reviewed personally. Registering now triggers the engagement letter and Vollmacht in your inbox within 48 hours, so your next return stays on track.
By category, not by name. Pick the model that fits how you sell into Germany.
| Vaytax | Online VAT platforms | Traditional tax advisor | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Germany model | Germany specialist, in-house | Multi-country software layer | Single-firm engagement |
| Pricing | €89/month, fixed | Tiered, often + per-filing fees | Hourly or retainer |
| Licensed tax advisor named on filings | Yes, in-house team | Often a partner network | Yes |
| English dashboard + self-service | Yes | Yes | Often German-only |
| Routine tax-office correspondence included | Yes | Tier-dependent | Yes |
| Multi-country coverage | Germany only | EU-wide | Germany only |
| Cancellation | End of next month | Tier-dependent | Notice period varies |
Pan-EU sellers who file in three or more countries may want a multi-country platform for the bundle. Germany-focused sellers, including Pan-EU FBA sellers whose primary risk is the German registration, are typically better served by a Germany specialist.

No per-transaction surcharge. The price you see covers your routine recurring filings; one-off work like backfiling or disputes is always quoted up front.

Provider handovers cover the go-forward monthly filings. The annual reconciliation of the year you leave behind is where migrations quietly fail.
Your monthly UStVAs may have moved cleanly, but the Umsatzsteuerjahreserklärung for 2025 belongs to nobody unless a provider takes it on in writing. Filed by yourself, the 2025 annual return is due 31 July 2026, and a year that stays open eventually draws a late-filing surcharge or an estimated assessment.
The annual return is part of every Vaytax filing plan from tax year 2026 onward. Past years such as 2025 can be added for €499 one-time per tax year, booked from your dashboard. And because a licensed tax advisor files it, your 2025 deadline extends automatically from 31 July 2026 to 1 March 2027 (§149(3) AO).
The Taxdoo migration is when providers will quote attractively then surface fees later. Get these answers in writing.
"Is a licensed German tax advisor named on my filings, and are they a member of a Steuerberaterkammer?"
The answer should be a name and a Kammer. An anonymous "partner network" is a yellow flag: you want to know exactly who signs your return.
"What is the all-in monthly cost for Germany, in writing, with no per-transaction surcharges?"
Get it in the engagement letter. Quote-based pricing during migration season often surfaces tier upgrades after onboarding.
"Is tax-office correspondence included? How are audits or queries billed?"
This is where multi-country platforms tend to bill separately at €150–200/hour. Get the boundary in writing.
"What is the cancellation notice period? Any auto-renewal?"
Watch for 12-month auto-renewal clauses. Vaytax cancels at the end of the following month with no auto-renewal.
"Can you commit to filing my next VAT return by its deadline, in writing?"
If they can't commit to a date in writing, they don't have capacity. Move on.
Free instant English read, no signup. Then a fixed price from €200 net, nothing to pay until you accept. Estimated assessment (Schätzbescheid), payment reminder (Mahnung), formal hearing notice (Anhörung). A licensed German tax advisor reviews your case.
No. The Tax ID and USt-IdNr. are tied to your company entity, not to Taxdoo. Switching is a power-of-attorney handover (Vollmachtswechsel), not a re-registration. There is no gap in your tax registration.
It happens. Start the request on day 1 of your migration. We can begin onboarding (Mandatsvereinbarung, Vollmacht) without your full Taxdoo handover pack. Your historical filings are useful for context but not strictly required to file the May VAT return itself, which we prepare from your direct turnover data.
Yes. The standard cut-over: Taxdoo files your last reporting period (April 2026), Vaytax files from May 2026 onward. As long as the Vollmachtswechsel is processed before your next deadline, no period is uncovered.
Yes. Dauerfristverlängerung sits with your company at the tax office, it's not tied to Taxdoo. The 1/11 deposit you've paid is on file with the tax office; the new tax advisor files under the same extension. No re-application.
ZM is included in Vaytax's €89/month. If you have intra-EU B2B supplies (Pan-EU FBA cross-border movements, B2B sales to other EU countries), we file the monthly ZM alongside the VAT return. No separate charge.
Annual returns are part of every Vaytax plan from tax year 2026 onward. The 2025 annual return that Taxdoo would have handled is now your responsibility; Vaytax takes it on for €499 one-time as a past-year filing. Filed by yourself it is due 31 July 2026; filed by a licensed tax advisor the deadline extends automatically to 1 March 2027 (§149(3) AO). How the annual return works →
For the calendar month of the cut-over, you may. Taxdoo's last billable month is typically April (the period they file before exiting). Vaytax billing starts the month we file your first return. Total double-billed period: typically zero, occasionally one month.
