Your address changed. The office and your marketplace need to hear it from the right place.
A new registered address, a new name or a new legal form, and the VAT-ID confirmation your marketplace holds no longer matches your paperwork. We notify the tax office (Finanzamt), ask the Federal Central Tax Office (BZSt) for the updated VAT-ID confirmation, and send it to you.
From a mismatch to an updated confirmation.
The confirmation says one thing, your paperwork another
Amazon or another marketplace flags the mismatch, or the VAT-ID confirmation (USt-IdNr-Bestätigung) still carries the old address, name or legal form.
The office updated, the confirmation in your hands
The change on file at the Finanzamt, the BZSt asked for the updated confirmation, and the document forwarded to you for the marketplace.
Two things, and we can start.
Asked about address changes
No. For clients on a filing plan an address, name or legal-form change is routine correspondence with the office and is included. Tell us in your dashboard thread and we file it. The fee is for companies we do not file for.
Marketplaces check the VAT-ID confirmation against your seller account details. When the registered address, name or legal form on the confirmation no longer matches, the account can be flagged or restricted until an updated confirmation is on file.
A merger, a new entity or a change of the taxable person is a new registration, not a change notification. Say so in the form: that is quoted per case, and the registration plan covers it.
