The math is straightforward and entirely public — no secret tiers or hidden assumptions. Here's exactly what we use for each provider:

Multi-country scaling

For "Germany + 1–2 EU" and "Pan-EU FBA" scopes, we apply published per-country pricing where available, or industry-typical multipliers where not:

Vaytax stays at Germany-only cost — for non-DE countries, pair with a country-specialist or multi-country provider (we estimate €60/mo per extra country for the pairing)
hellotax and countX bundle additional countries at €40–60/mo each
AVASK's per-country economics improve at scale — typical Pan-EU 5-country plans land around €350–450/mo total
Local Steuerberater costs scale linearly per country (effectively impractical past 2 countries)

What we don't include

Per-transaction surcharges that some platforms apply above tier thresholds — these depend heavily on order volume and category, so we exclude them but note the risk in each provider's row.
One-off audit / Finanzamt-inquiry billing — not a routine cost for any provider.
Annual contract minimums for providers that require them (AVASK, hellotax higher tiers). We assume month-to-month flexibility.
