Deregistered · German VAT number

Your German VAT number was switched off. It can usually be brought back.

If the Finanzamt has deregistered you, you generally do not have to start from scratch. We contact the office, re-establish the registration and handle the correspondence that normally follows.

From €499 net, plus ongoing filing once the number is live again. There is no checkout: tell us your situation and we send a fixed price for your case first.

Why it was switched off, and why that matters

The reason changes the work, so it is the first thing we ask.

  • Returns stopped arriving. The most common cause. The number is switched off, but the unfiled periods do not disappear with it. They usually have to be filed as part of getting you back to normal.
  • The account looked dormant. No turnover reported for a long stretch, so the office closed the file. Usually the cleanest case.
  • You deregistered deliberately and now need to sell in Germany again. Also clean, and often the fastest.

What it costs

WhatPriceWhat it assumes
Bringing the VAT number back from €499 net Contacting the right Finanzamt, re-establishing the registration, and the back-and-forth that usually follows. Quoted for your case before you commit.
Ongoing filing, once it is live €99 / month or €1,099 / year Not really optional: the moment the number works again, the returns are due again. This runs alongside the one-off, it does not replace it.
Returns missed while you were switched off from €599 per year or €99 per return If unfiled periods are what caused this. See catching up on late returns.
Application to remit penalties (Erlassantrag) quoted per case A separate procedure with its own reasoning. It can be refused.

Why there is no buy button. A dormant number that simply needs waking up is not the same job as one switched off over three years of missing returns with penalties attached. You tell us which you are, and we send a fixed quote for that.

Being straight with you

  • The Finanzamt decides whether and when the number comes back. We do the work properly and push it along; we cannot promise their answer or their timing.
  • Fees are payable up front and are not refundable.
  • If your case turns out to need more than we quoted, we tell you and agree it before continuing.
  • We do not file customs declarations (Zollanmeldungen). That stays with your freight forwarder. The import VAT it produces flows into your German return, which is ours.

Tell us about your case

The more of this you can answer, the more precise the quote. Leave anything blank if you do not know.

Stock in Germany without a live VAT number is an accruing problem, so this changes urgency.

We reply with a fixed quote for your case. Sending this does not commit you to anything.
